Tim Webb, a founding Principal of Integral, Inc., began his career as a co-op at Woolpert Consultants in Dayton, OH while earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati. Woolpert is a large multi-discipline engineering firm with offices all over the country. In his time there, Tim worked in many facets of civil engineering including highways, bridges, and utilities. After graduating in 1989, he continued at Woolpert in the structural department designing bridges and industrial buildings as well as writing design spreadsheets for the department.
In 1990, Tim moved to Colorado to work on his Master's degree in Structural Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.During this time, Tim worked for the Colorado Department of Highways on a software model of a fence being used to mitigate rockslides along at-risk stretches of highway in Colorado. Also, during this time, Tim began working as an intern at Nicol Associates. Here, Tim continued practicing structural engineering in addition to setting up the CAD standards for the company. After finishing his graduate studies, Tim began working full-time at Nicol Associates designing numerous residential and commercial projects.
In 1993, Tim moved to Arkansas where he worked for CEI Engineering.CEI is a large multi-discipline engineering firm with offices all over the country. While there, Tim was one of only two structural engineers and oversaw the work of three draftsmen. It was in Arkansas that Tim learned much about the construction process by spending much of his spare time on projects sites. Returning to Colorado, Tim rejoined Nicol Associates where he continued to excel in engineering and became the default IT administrator. Eventually, he became an associate, which involved soliciting new work and overseeing the work of five other engineers, in addition to practicing engineering. It is during this time that Tim worked closely with his present partner, Matt Grandsaert, on the first and second phases of One Boulder Plaza in downtown Boulder, CO, which later contributed to their decision to form their own structural engineering firm in 2007.

Matt F. Grandsaert, P.E., LEED AP Principal
Matt Grandsaert, a founding Principal of Integral, Inc., began his career as an Engineer and Estimator for the Kiewit Corporation, one of North Americaís largest and most well-respected construction and engineering organizations. Matt was exposed to large-scale heavy civil projects including the repaving of the Offutt Air Force Base runways in Bellevue, NE, and several major interstate highway projects while living and working in Seattle, WA.
In 1996, Matt moved to Colorado to earn his Masterís degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.Mattís thesis entitled A Compression Test of Plastered Straw-Bale Walls was conducted as a direct response to the local codes of Arizona, California and Colorado which had assigned arbitrary allowable vertical load capacities for load-bearing straw-bale walls. At the time, Mattís work was one of only a handful of full-scale tests on straw-bale walls that had been done anywhere in the world.
Following graduate school, Matt joined Nicol Associates where he began developing relationships with leading architects and developers in Colorado and California.Under the tutelage of Joseph Nicol, Matt was able to gain a wide array of experience in both project scope and design. It is here that Matt worked collaboratively with his present partner, Timothy Webb, on the first and second phases of One Boulder Plaza in downtown Boulder and which later led to their decision to form their own structural engineering studio in 2007.
Currently, Matt remains active in the engineering and design community as a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado (SEAC), and as a professional associate for the American Plywood Association (APA).Matt and Integral, Inc., have served as a consultant to the popular Discovery Channel show Mythbusters.
